Masonic lodges in New Zealand fall under the auspices of four different constitutions. Initially, of course, there was, in Dunedin, the Scottish Constitution but shortly thereafter the English Constitution and the Irish Constitution became established. In the late 1800s New Zealand instituted its own New Zealand Constitution. All Masonic lodges in New Zealand are under one of these four and, in the Otago region, lodges operate under the New Zealand, Scottish and Irish constitutions.
